Kukup Island (or Pulau Kukup) is located at the southernmost part of Johor, Malaysia. It is 1km off shore of the state Johor. It is entirely covered by mangroves and mudflats. In 1997, it became a national park under the Johor State Park Corporation Enactment 1989 and later recognized as a RAMSAR site on 31 January 2003. Kukup Island is one of the biggest inhabited mangrove sites in the world. There are various species of wildlife there such as monkeys, wild boar, mudskipper and much more.
